It wouldnt be up to your nees, and they have an enourmous jump, they have sharp claws, and a copmy would go to your middle leg, are you saying a raptor is almost as big as a compy?

Not Very good.. Ideal for a kick in the face, or since it is a "bird" they are tended to get scared off by "bigger" prey.

A large German Shepard; Velociraptor was about three feet tall.

Hahahaha. I should consider deleting that post alltogether. My lord.

Anyway, you people think that just cause the Velociraptor was three feet, it couldn't maim it? Dogs and Wolverines kill and maime people, so what makes you think a three foot carnivore with a four inch claw couldnt completely destroy you? One wolf would be almost dooming in the wild, imagine six or seven, that is sheer terror. Now pump up that size (at backbone height) to 3 feet, its head and neck stretching to about 4 feet. That could do unspeakable damage. You aren't taking into account that modernly, we fear being attacked by a two and a half foot dog, let alone a four foot pack of carnage.

I got attacked by a German Shephard.. You Kick the dog in the mouth and it Runs. A Veloceraptor Would Fear Humans. If a two Foot Penguin is about to jump you. You don't just let it. You Lurch Back.

That may work with a dog. Of course, dogs have been trained over the years and breeded (expecially german shepards)

But Raptors and other dinosaurs would just go by instinct, and if they find you as no threat, they will surely decide to continue. We don't know how they would behave, so in a way, we are both wrong.

actully nobody knows, it may be small, but its millions of years old. For all we know, it could be the deadliest, or the weakest.

Well, depicting from their elite hunting tools, claw, teeth, I would not go off on a limb and say they where anywhere near "weak". For it's time, I am not saying it's an Apex predator, but I am saying that it probably was a great hunter, whatever it did hunt, it did a good job of doing so.

But the thing is, what if it only ate rats and little dinos smaller than it? The world may know one day. But for right now, nobody knows.Im not saying its weak, im not saying its strong. We cant just say. "Its a predator with claws. Its the fastesr, most ferious killing dinosaur."

I didn't say that. Usually when predators are equipped with strong hunting tools, they are very adept at hunting. The claw tells us it was a hunter. Not a scavenger.

All Im saying is that maybe the raptor wasnt as fearsome as we think. Or what if he was the most fearsome.(unlikely though for its size, but size doesnt matter) Or velociraptor could have been killing animals smaller then it like lizards, and rats.

Small animals often have good hunting tools and within their epoch are pretty good hunters.

But in the same way you could probably beat a fox, so you could probably beat a raptor
