Veloceraptor
A velociraptor in Paleontologist terms is "bird of prey." It has feathers and is a small rather dangerous predator. In Jurassic park they really exaggerate the appearance of them.

Isn't the JP raptors meant to be another raptor that they renamed or something

My argument exactly ^-^
One minor detail missed by all MOVIEGOERS is that in the beginning of the novel, grant is talking about raptors, when the subject of deinychous comes up. He answers Tim with "Actually, Deinychous are considered velociraptors now."
Therefor, in the movie, they aren't the original raptors, they are deinychous, but are reffered to as raptors, because ultimately, "Velociraptor" Is a lot more catchy than "Deinychous" eh? So in the book even, they do not use raptors. They refer to them as raptors. People on t.v and people have to understand that.

Re: Veloceraptor
I think the only reason that velociraptor caught on was because it was used in JP
If they had gone with dein then it would be that which would be more 'catchy'

Re: Veloceraptor
i dont ike the feathered Raptor, the scaley JP ones are better... however, Dienychous being Velo now? I think that was only in the book.

Re: Veloceraptor
But they didn't have scales, you can have a opinion on wich you like, but the fact is, they most likely had feathered

Technically, in the center of the Deiny's existence, it had a very scaly skin. Also, in the movie, it was at least 1ft above a grown adult, so yes, the sizes ultimately where off scale.

Re: Veloceraptor
Who caresif they were right sized then it would be funny seen grant running from a tiny thing like it so it had to be done if they weren't biger then the moive wouldn't be right big whoop they did make them different maybe in JP somehow Velo DNA got mixed with Dein DNA so looked like a dein and a velo right but they were more like velo so they called them velociraptor right.

Correct,I agree, and lol.raptors rule wrote:Who caresif they were right sized then it would be funny seen grant running from a tiny thing like it so it had to be done if they weren't biger then the moive wouldn't be right big whoop they did make them different maybe in JP somehow Velo DNA got mixed with Dein DNA so looked like a dein and a velo right but they were more like velo so they called them velociraptor right.
Also, keep in mind, the DNA was not entirely Velo DNA or Deiny DNA, it could have really been Deiny DNA, but it would have been changed so much by the Frog DNA that it was a bit bigger than usual.
At least, that's what helps me sleep at night.

Re: Veloceraptor
That is right and no it was not mixed with frog it was mixed with frog and another DNA i is the monitor lizard cause in the kitchen you see there tounges filckering out in like a monitor lizard that means it had frog and monitor lizard DNA what might of made them bigger and the sorna raptors did not have that tounge so that means sorna raptors must of been mixed with something else right duh I am right again so that means nublars were mixed with frog/lizard DNA sornas frog?/bird? DNA is my guess.

And Another form or prediction of them like this:
They both have shorter snouts than JP Raptors.

Re: Veloceraptor
Remember that JP that it wa not fully velo DNA it had dein DNA prob and had monitor lizard or snake DNA to and frog DNA so it was a mix of many things and snakes and monitors had scales maybe that was why they had scales instead of feathers cause there was no bird DNA in the JP raptors and frogs explain the breeding and the size is prob from the dein DNA and the rest velo DNA.

Re: Veloceraptor
No prob. My favorite pic of a raptor is the one in my signature on MG and Robotosaurus and Natures Secrets and everything [but here]
[too lazy to change it.]
I also like the one in my signature here, which is why I included it. Its from "Dino Crisis".
For those wondering, here is my pic on MG.
