Well, if you admit to breaking the rules, then at least make an effort to follow them. I know there will be arguments, but the rule is temporary; better for staying active.

It depends on the situation. If it is 1 Trike VS 1 Trex it would be a 50/50 fight, it it is a pack of Trikes VS 1, 2 or 3 T-rexes then it would be a 80/20 fight.Godzilla98 wrote:triceratops master 25 wrote: I think Triceratops could win 90% of the time

And about the ''Rex has the most powerful bite ever''. It makes no sence! Giga had a larger skull (Probably the largest of all theropods!) and a smaller brain, that means it had a lott more room for jaw muscles. It's bite power probably DWARFED T-rex's. Also take a look at Liopleuridon, the largest predator EVER! It's skull made a T-rex skull look small. It had MUUUUTCH more room for jaw muscles. Conclusion: T-rex's jaws where not the most powerfull of all time. Not that it had weak jaws, no way. It could have crushed a human in like 2 second, but it defenatly wasn't all more powerfull than everything else.

Re: Triceratops vs Rex...
I don't think so. A triceretops, charging a T-rex, with head down and the horns acting as spears. The T-rex, is not swift, or accurate enough to bite down on the horns, using pin-point precision timing, and yanking or snapping them in half. The T-rex would not stand a chance against a charging triceretops. The T-rex also does not hunt in packs, which doesn't enable it the advantage of distracting the prey, and its buddy would go for the kill from the side. The only time a T-rex would really have the advantage of a Triceretops, is if it was completely unaware, sick, old, or migrating across the desert, and stuck in a very muddy oasis, but the T-rex never migrated, so that would rule out that situation.Godzilla98 wrote:triceratops master 25 wrote: I think Triceratops could win 90% of the time

Re: Triceratops vs Rex...
I'm quite sure when people say "the most powerful of all time," they don't compare to aquatic animals. That being said, I suppose it may be fair to say that Giganotosaurus, due to larger size, had greater muscle capacity and therefore more strength.Universal genesis wrote:It depends on the situation. Re: Triceratops vs Rex...
hose forgetting my leviathan whale? T.rex doesnt stand a chance.
I doubt triceratops was as strong as the media shows, the specimen nicknamed T.Maximus is probably the only trike strong enough to attack a rex, just look at the Jpog size difference( Yeah, they are pretty close) It's like a medium sized croc vs pangolin.
Just imagine a mountain goat beating a lion, it happens, not often.
I myself don't like these Dino VS Dino topics anymore, if a fight isnt one-sided then it's fifty fifty.
Yes, T.rex could beat giga, even more often than Giga could beat rex.
Giga hunted in packs at all times, T-rex had variable sociabillity.
Rex's bite is undefeated on land. Any animal dwarfing it's bite force requires water to support its weight.
On average, they were the same size, the super huge gigas are likely also very old, but it's safe to assume that Gigas grew larger.
Rex wont friggin kill it unless the giga is retarded and persistent, why would the giga stick around after a brutal beating?
How could a rex beat up a Giga without sustaining fatal damage?
Vice Versa?
Lord, because it's head is bigger it has a stronger bite force, wtf.
Ants have a stroger bite force in proportion to a friggen hercules beatle.
Ants have a stronger bite force in size to any spider of the same size, the spider has the bigger jaw.
Bears have stronger bite force than lions, guess whose jaws bigger?
A snapping turtle has a stronger bite force than you.
T.rex, like all these others, uses the muscle supporting it's mouth to crush things, the mouth is a tool. Think if I gave you a huge axe and gave a wrestler an average one, who could cause the most damage?
Giga has shown no sign of have such powerful muscles ever. Infact, it probably was like an alligator in proportion, you can shut its mouth extreamly easily in comparison to opening it, T.rex didnt have this.

Re: Triceratops vs Rex...
That article forgot to mention one very important thing: total bite force doesn't matter at all. What matters is bite force per square inch. A great white has about 800 psi of force, whereas an animal like a lion has +/- 1000 psi of force (I think; it's been a while since I've seen the actual measurements).Gopher wrote:If you want to compare Tyrannosaurus to aquatic animals, I suppose you'll find this interesting:
http://www.livescience.com/2735-ancient-shark-bite-powerful-rex.html
And the article even explained why they don't need the highest per-pound bite force:
Sharks don't need to be able to hold on to their prey. They just need to bite at something to kill it. Shark teeth are very well designed, when it comes to causing lots of damage. Lions need to be able to bite, and hold on until the animal dies...As powerful as the bites of these sharks are, their ability to inflict killer damage on their prey is most likely due to the exquisite design of their formidable teeth. "Their teeth are very sharp, and serrated more or less like steak knives, so they don't need that much force to puncture and tear out flesh," Wroe explained. "And they have a conveyer belt of these teeth — they keep on growing rows and rows of them, so the teeth fall out and are replaced well before they go blunt."

Seriously though; if you ever find out anything about someone who is being hacked or having trouble with their account, please feel free to PM one of the admins. It would really help to clear things up around here.

Re: Triceratops vs Rex...
That's because a human has a big brain, the larger the brain, the less powerfull the bite. Our bite basicly can't kill anything exept if it's realy small. A Chimpanzee has a smaller brain but a stronger bite force.Coyotefang wrote:

Re: Triceratops vs Rex...
I actually believe, it's more that humans no longer needed a strong bite force, as we were able to use tools, to kill prey, so we continued to evolve with the 'message' that we no longer needed strong jaws to kill prey, like our cousins, apes, who still needed their teeth to kill prey, so evolution gradually, over the generations, began to take place more radically, lowering our bite force for example.

Re: Triceratops vs Rex...
trikes horns would leave a gigantic wound that would eventually cause death and retreat. t.rex would be as good as a chicken drumstick

Re: Triceratops vs Rex...
Wrong. Brain size has nothing to due with bite force. Pachycephalosaurus pretty much already explained why, except for one detail: their diet is totally different from ours. Their diet requires them to eat things that are generally much tougher, which requires stronger jaws.Universal genesis wrote:That's because a human has a big brain, the larger the brain, the less powerfull the bite. Bite force has nothing to due with brain size, and everything to due with what the jaw is designed to eat.

Now that's an interesting theory.Universal genesis wrote:That's because a human has a big brain, the larger the brain, the less powerfull the bite.
BTW I believe your use of the conjunction "due" is used incorrectly; it should be "do." Sorry about that intervention, I can't help myself sometimes.cunfuzzed wrote:Bite force has nothing to due with brain size, and everything to due with what the jaw is designed to eat.
