Re: Who was the most fearsome dinosaur?
Okay, I just read the discussion about Spino. It is full of crap.
1. Spino's tail was stiff and made for balance. Unless it wanted to crouch down and spin in circles, it could not break a Carchar's leg bone.
2. It's jaws were too weak to bite anything and damage it a whole lot.
3. Spino could not move its arms very well, and so could not rip out another Dinosaur's throat.
4. Big does not mean powerful. The only reasons Spino was big and heavy were: a) he needed to scare off other large predators because he couldn't fight them and b) he needed to make sure he wouldn't get washed away in a river while he was hunting for fish.

-#1: It's not like another dino could do the same--Diplodocus had those tails
- #2: If crocodile's jaws can kill a zebra, then Spino, which is much larger, could easily do the same
-#3: Think realisticly-- It wouldn't rip out another dino's throat; not many dinosaurs had that intelligence. Besides, Spino had long arms for its kind.
-#4: Big does mean powerful. T rex was big, and everyone says powerful. Spino was larger, twice as powerful. A) Spino was large enough to fight other predators of its time. It's not like it could fight T rex.
B) Okay--The washed away in a river thing is just not plausible, even for smaller dinosaurs..... This is 7 TONS we are talking about. Not a flimsy Gallimimus.

I still don't think it was all that strong. The spine could easly break.

I think SPINO
I think spino because :
It was lightweight
It was the biggest land carnivore
And it was built to fish but it has big claws
Plus Watch JP3

Okay, please stop with the "crap," next time I may not be so lenient.
-I'll tell you what kinda crap "lightweight" is-- It means less fat than T rex or Giganto.
-Biggest land carnivore is not estimated, but true. Read up.....
-It had great jaws and conical teeth. Goodbye, T rex or Giganto.

Me And Gopher Think Spino was Bigger.

Re: Who was the most fearsome dinosaur?
Velociraptor
1. Small size means it can get through cramped spaces.
2. Incredibly smart( large brain cavity)
3. Vocalisation (it has a resonating chamber)
4. Lethal Killing claws on both feet.
5.It hunts in packs to do more damage

1. Diplodocus and Spinosaurus were two different animals. And even that theory is beginning to wane.Gopher wrote:godzillaman wrote:Okay, I just read the discussion about Spino. It is full of crap.

2. A Crocodile's jaws were almost as powerful as Rex's (hint hint). Besides, look at these two skulls:
Spino
Crocodile
Notice how, while they may appear similar at first, there is one major difference:
The Croc's skull is flattened and broad, whilst Spino's is very skinny and somewhat tall. Following? Good.
3. Alright, let's see if I can find this quote...
Here we go!
4. This is what sickens me. BIG =/= POWERFUL! Robert Wadlow:Sagus on MG wrote:How exactly would they swin with their arms considering the fact that they can't move their wrists more than 90º AND that their arms couldnt move more than 180º? They couldn't even raise their arms sideways like we do.
Was he powerful? NO! He died of heart failure. My two reasons still stand.

I think it was utahraptor. reasons:
1. it was big
2. that claw in the foot
3. strong foot muscles
4. it could jump so high and far
5. sharp teeth
6. agressive
7. run fast
thats what ooppel thinks
