-Prologue-
The night thundered with screams from outside the shelter. "Damn." Vic thought to himself. "Not yet, just give me 3 more minutes!" He had just started to finish up his shelter. It wasn't much, but it should hold off, the horde.
He fumbled for his screwdriver, as he nailed in the last screw, to finish it off. "Nice, and all done." He reached his hand for the shelter's hidden door, when out the corner of his eye, he saw it. As he looked over, they both posed, and
stared each other down. In a split second move, Vic took out his pistol and aimed, the figure knew it, and charged. Vic fired one shot. The figure flinched, but continued even faster. "Damn! I need to get this finished." He fired
4 more shots. The figure jumped and Vic fired on more. He felt the weight of the figure crumble down on him, as he waited to be torn apart. But to his surprise, as he opened his eyes, the figure lay on top of him. Horribly disfigured.
"Get off me." He grunted with effort as he, lifted the creature off him. He reloaded his gun, and shot the creature 4 more times. He heard, the horde getting closer. "Goodnight." He walked in the shelter, and bolted the door shut.
He opened another door, and went inside a steel inclosement, where he got into his bed, and thought. "Scientists...What do they know. Destroying the world in a split second." He heard the horde walking on his roof.
"Creating hell for me, and everyone else. Mutants, zombies, is all they left. WHY NOT ME!?! WHY WASN"T I INFECTED!?" Vic was almost Crying now. But he held back, his urge to cry, and scream. "Tomorrow."

-----CHAPTER 1-------
Vic woke up to the smell of fried eggs, and toast. "Oh, such heaven" He dressed up, and went down to the kitchen where his wife was already cooking. "Good morning Honey!" Said Mary. "And same to you." They pecked each other
on the cheek and sat down to eat. "You know the annual power plant safety celebration is today. I was thinking, maybe we could go?" asked Mary. "Can't..."Vic ate his food hungrily. "I have work."
"You work today? I thought it's your day off." exclaimed Mary. Vic knew that his job did cheat him. But he knew, defending the country when they need it. "I have service, and I am going to be at the celebration anyway, gaurding the
entrances, from crazy, insane people trying to do anything." Mary, sighed. "Well at least you'll be their." Vic Cleaned up after himself, and kissed her goodbye, as he Left the house. He got in his car, and drove off.

"VIC!" Yelled the luietenant. "Yes sir?" The luitenant, took a deep breath and yelled. "YOU ARE 5 MINUTES LATE, YOU FOOL!" Vic knew that he was only raising his voice, because of the superiors around him. When they come to scout
on him, he completely turns into a ranking soldier, with no heart. "I'm sorry sir. It won't happen again." With that Vic caught up with his squad, and got ready to head down to the station.Thought's zoomed by his head. "What if something goes wrong?"
He calmed, and reassured himself that all, was going to be alright. "Alright, ladys! Move MOVE MOVE!' The sarge yelled. They all formed up together, and got into positiong. "Well.. we are going to stand here, with all the smells tempting us for
6 long hours. Oh lord" Vic muttered to himself. "WHAT WAS THAT SOLDIER!?" yelled the sarge. "Nothing sir!" The Sarge looked at him. "I'm not spending my time with you ladys, and girl scouts, to sell cookies. Because this sure as hell
isn' the girl scouts selling cookies. NOW GET WITH IT!" Vic just did as he was told. "Crazy man." he thought.

------------Continued from Chapter 1-------------

Vic Got positioned to his post. Rather isolated his post was, but it would let him relax and enjoy the good, cloudless warm sky. He looked around, and all that surrounded him were pillars of steel and concrete gauging smoke. He held
his M16 tightly in his hand, while observing the scope. It wasn't a bad gun at all. It didn't have a hard kickback, and was quite comfortably to hold and reload. Vic Leaned back on the pillars and just looked around. A black dot figure
flew across the sky. "Eh, A trans plane maybe." he thought. Too much did he see that, but the shape of that plane was quite suspicious. Vic then knew what it was. A shell, cabable of a blast radius up to 15 feet was being either flown toward them,
or some recruit, aimed the shell off the right path. Vic grabbed his "walkie-talkie" and screamed in. "This is Alpha Vic 1, I repeat, This is Alpha Vic 1."
"Go ahead Vic 1." Answered Command Post.
"Object in airspace is, quite suspicious and descending upon. Seems like a shell"
"Copy That, Vic, Can you confirm the object."
It hit Vic then that he had his binoculars equipped. He took it out and zoned in to the object. The Binoculars could pinpoint the Range of a direct object.
"Object is 1k in the air. and descending."
But it happened in a moments flash. A burst from the shell whom now appeared to be a rocket, shot to the soil in less that a second.
And then, Impact.

After beeing Gone for a few months I didn't want to dissapoint you guys. I hope you like this Chapter.
CHAPTER 2
-------------------------------------
He Didn't Scream. He didn't Feel anything. The next thought that flew threw Vic's Mind Was. “Oh God this is it. I'm dead.” He Opened His eyes to noticed that he had been thrown back a couple feet, or so. He waited to Land. Plop. He landed nimbly and hard on his stomach. “Ooof!” He checked his feet and arms. “Their still here, intact” he thought. He still was deafened by the explosion. He ran to grab his gun in which looked to be in okay shape, when he noticed another body lying about 12 feet from where he landed. But It was much closer to where the rocket hit. “Damn, I never saw him standing here.” Vic Ran to check his dog tags. It was something that he much hated doing. He grabbed the Steel and Warm dogtag. “Still warm from the explosion.” He said to himself, while noticing he wasn't deafened any more. The tag read, “Pvt. Lewis Elderedge, Blood Type A” There was still more to read but his radio sounded, “This is Command Base to Alpha Vic, Do you copy? “Loud and clear” Radioed Vic back. “Heavy Fighting To the NorthEast of your last location” Vic Was a bit upset that they weren't concerned about him at all. But IT was the Army after all. Vic Didn't answer back he just grabbed his gun and ran. Everything zipped by him quite fast. He wasn't sure how fast he was running. He didn't care. He just knew that he would need to get to the fighting as fast as possible. He was with the newly recruited troops today, and in which all of em haven't even been in a real gunfight with the enemy. Vic could hear gunshots echoing and rebounding through the pillars. “Close.” A mortar landed about 10 feet from where he was, causing him to flinch and almost trip. “Damn! I can't get killed now!” The Gunfighting was quite loud now, and he saw where the battle was being fought. It was in the forest that the enemy had attacked through. The recruits have hid behind what could withstand a bullet. Barrels, Thick wooden planks, Steel sheets, Dirt mounds, Anything. “Who's in charge here?” Yelled a recruit in a panicked voice. Vic waited for maybe just in a case an officer with higher command would be their and answer back. 5 seconds. 10 seconds. 15. No one answered. “Who is in cha-” “I am!” Yelled Vic.
“What do we do sir?” Vic noticed the panic in the recruits eyes. “Stay behind Cover and keep low, Fire at anything that moves in the forest!” The recruit didn't answer but obeyed. Vic Took cover next to a recruit covering behind a dirt mound. “What's your name grunt?” Vic yelled as he laid down behind the dirt mound that was about 3 feet in height and 7 feet in width. “Pvt. Hawkins sir!” “Good how long you been stationed for?” Vic asked as he scimmed through the forest with his scope. “Just 1 week sir!” “Good now shut up and fire!” “Yessir!” Vic still could not see any burst or fire from the forest, but he knew that there was shooting coming from there. Out of the corner of his eye he saw movement. Vic Fired at the bush that seemed to be in “distress” A scream ripped through the air. “Got him.” Vic thought. Then a machine gun ripped through the Forest and rebounding off of the wooden planks and steel sheets. “I'm hit, Hit!” Yelled a recruit. “Where's the Medic?” “Here sir!” Yelled a recruit behind a pillar. “Get your ass over to the wounded man 2:00 o'clock from where you are! All Covering Fire in 3, 2, 1, Fire!” All the guns started firing at the same time, and the medic ran straight to the wounded soldier. “Cease Fire, and Re continue at will in 5 seconds!” During those 5 Seconds the enemy answered back with heavy fire. Vic aimed again and shot 5 times Single shot's each to the burst of flashing coming from in between two tree's. The Firing ceased. “2 Kills for today” He Closed his eyes, and ducked waiting for the return of enemy fire.

It Didn't take long for Vic to understand that after 16 minutes of no return fire , Ment one thing. They were either all dead, Or They retreated, you could never know. Vic took the chance and peered his head over the mound to take a look. Nothing was moving from the trees, nor bushes, nor the feild. All was still. Vic signaled for two men to check to see if it was clear. Both looked rather nervous but headed out. As they walked closer and closer they could see no sign of the enemy. Silence. All was still. The Private on the left started walking backward, slowly. He was scared. Hell, We were all scared. He, regained his courage and started walking toward the bushes. One shot. Then a second. It took Vic less than a second to figure out what happened. The enemy waites for somebody to check , and pick of an easy target that came to them. Both Privates, turned and started to run. One of them, fell to his knees in agony. The other one was already down. Vic didn't see what happened to him. The shots started up again. The squad fired at every object in the forest. If it moves, they lit it up. "Cover me!" Vic yelled, and ran toward the two wounded soldiers. Whiz, Whiz, Swoosh. Bullets flew over his head and past his feet. Vic pulled out a grenade, pulled the pin, and threw it out to the forest, while maintaining his sprint. When he got to the wounded soldiers, he felt for a pulse. Nothing. Nothing came from the First Private. Vic checked the second, one. There was a pulse. He was heavily wounded, and knew that this had to be over soon and a medevac to be called out soon. He checked the dog tags of the Dead soldier. It read: Pvt.John Deleny. He ripped the dog tag off, and started to drag the soldier back to safety. It wasn't long before Vic realized that, he too, was an easy target, and would only stay alive if the suppressing fire given out by the squad didn't end."Maybe the grenade killed them.” Vic thought to himself. He finnally got the the cover between the wooden planks. He layed the Wounded next to the plank, and pulled another plank to cover his feet, from any shrapnel. Vic grabbed the radio and screamed, “We need Medevac, We have 1 WIA and 1 KIA, Immediate medevac urgently required, and Mortar fire to the specified locations!” Vic punched the location in where the enemy was firing from. His answer was being shouted from the radio. “Medevac has been sent out, and a mortar crew has been informed, Standby, For further orders.” Vic put the radio back in his pack, and pulled his 16 out and fired again. The radio flared up with an order. “You will be picked up by the Hummvees which will arrive in 1- 10 Minutes.” The humvees were already inside. They must’ve been dispatched in the beginning of the firefight. “Move, Move, Move! Get in Get in!” Vic picked up the wounded soldier and put him in the humvee. Somebody had already brought in the Killed soldier and was loading him into the back. They were still being fired upon, and Vic got in the Front of the humvee. The Gunner on the humvee started firing, and it was then when we heard the Mortars hit the Targets location. “What’s going on??!” Vic yelled to the Driver. The driver looked at him and said, “Insurgents.”

Chap- 2
The news broke out. 7 terrorist, going extreme, attacked a Celebration gathering and managed to kill 2 soldiers, and wound 1 more. 2 died from gunfire, and 1 from a shell. The Public was confused. Me. I was confused, and wondering, how would the family of the Killed and wounded. How would they take it? Would they be upset even more, the fact that they were hurt at the Home front, and not overseas? Vic Knew that if he was the father of the fallen, boys. He sure as hell would be upset. The body's of the Terrorists were recovered. 3 were killed during the firefight, the rest died in the hailing of mortars. Vic sat in his bunk, at the barracks. Who knew. Who knew that during a happy and a day to celebrate, somethiing terribly wrong would happen. The mortar that hit him was a lucky shot from the insurgents. Doctors had to get shrapnel removed from Vic's Leg, that Vic didn't even know about until he was in the humvee, calm. Vic was tired, Irritated, and mostly upset. But he pushed the thoughts of the dead soldiers away, and tried to fall asleep. Not more than 43 minutes passed when he was awakened by, a voice." Sergeant Vic!" I didn't expect nobody to be talking, so the Colonels voice startled me. "Yessir!" I jumped out of bed and saluted, out of habit. "Your actions at the firefight were gallant and brave, however, you are being replaced in your squad and will act as a corporal for the time being. Your New Sergeant's name Is SGT. Lance Armstrong. Any question?" Vic thought for a moment and asked, "What is his official rank, sir.?" The Colonel looked at him and said, "Staff seargent. Hooah." The colonel left, and Vic stood their and wondered. "Oh well, better than being responsible for the lives of your squad." Vic sat down, and continued his bountiful, and treasured sleep.

May, 16, 2009. I woke up to the sound of laughing. The squad woke up early in the morning and was having some down time, playing Halo, and some just talking, others writing letters, and some just reading. I made my way to the mess, hall to use the bathroom, as the one in his barracks had been occupied already, and was getting ready for his morning, "duties" Vic brushed his teeth, and shaved, took a shower, and went back to the barracks. It was like a morning robotic, procedure. He didn't think much at all. He just did his routine, like an automated robot. As he made his way to his bunk again, he started listening in to the conversation.
"Yo man, get off the car, its mine."
"That ain't a car, its a warthog, and its mine. Get your ass in the gunners seat."
"I did last time and you drove us off a cliff!"
"The brakes failed, now shut up, and get in."
The squad broke up in laughter. Some grinning others laughing the kind of "Thats-funny-but-i'll-make-a-dramatic-and-hysteric-laugh. I looked behind my shoulder and saw the the Sergeant, come in and address the squad. "Atten-hut!" The squad lined up, including me. "This squad will be heading out and will be deployed in Iraq. Including myself. We will be dispatched with further orders when we arrive. Pack up, get your gear, and be ready at the plane in 0500 hours. Hooah?" Hooah! The Soldiers chanted. It didn't take long to pack up, not that we had enough time to pack up, and think about what we needed. When Sergeant Lance left it was already 0412 hours. But whatever the situation was, I was ready. I was ready to be deployed. To face death and, laugh.
We were heading to Iraq.

No hard feelings on your part, I don't get angry, I replaced all useless anger I could have with lulz, save my anger for a second holocaust, or the poor soul that hurts my family, I can get mad tho...
But if it's this story you're calling lame, meh, not bad at all IMO.
