Ok why did Michael Crichton and Steven Speilburg use a Velo instead of a Dein in the books and movies, when it was intended to be a Dein?

At the time Deinonychus was believed to be a type of velociraptor instead of it's own unique genus.

Later on it was decided that Deinonychus's name wasn't threatening or memorable.
