I recently read about a new theory that suggests that triceratops was the juvenile form of torosaurus.Personally I think this theory is just junk but, what do YOU think?

It's not a new theory at all, but I know it.
All triceratops fossils found are young, alll toros are old, they lived in the same time and place.

But, wasn't triceratops bigger then toro???Anyway, trike was discovered in 1889 and toro in 1891 so, if this theory is valid the name triceratops remains. Very Happy

Theory itself is interesting, but i will always remain sceptical until they find a bonebed or something like that. I do NOT say that this theory is junk, may be pretty possible since ceratopsian frills were morphing during the growth. But THIS kind of change in the shape and overall structure doesn't convince me much. Hmmmm....

All trike skeletons actually were young, no one has ever discovered an old trike.

@MrGorsh, Animals today often go throung greater changes, but I get what your saying.

Then toro's

If a trike is a young toro then Smile How do you explane the holes inside toro's frill trike's frill is pure solid. study Trike might not of had a long life span if only young ones were found. So I just pwned you. Just listen. I tried...

Your "Torosaurus" pic is a Pentaceratops judging from the frill decoration. Also 'Torosaurus' specimens dont have any decor on their frills.
