Adding New Dinos Empty Adding New Dinos

Post  Raptor 013 Sun Nov 30, 2008 5:27 pm

Now, I will show you how to add new dinos to JPOG. Firstly, I recommend this vid to show you. I didn't Make it but it taught me how. give it a try HereP.S. you might want to turn up your volume. anyways, First thing you do is look through Eng.ini in locales folder for a dino you want to make. you can also add your own but just remember its short name on the left. for this example i will use ornithomimus like the vid. did. First, you go into the units file and copy the dino you want orni to be like (galli used). Copy the three files for galli and paste them in a different place. Go into the ini where it says
Code:
Name=galli;
    Directory=AUnitGalli;
    TClass=AUnitGalli;
    ScreenName=$Unit_Galli
and change it to
Code:

Name=orni;
    Directory=AUnitOrni;
    TClass=AUnitGalli;
    ScreenName=$Unit_Orni;
Next, change the three file names to Orni.
After that, paste them back into units. Next, go into Dinolist.ini where it says
Code:

trex,
    galli,
    raptor,
and add orni in so it looks like this
Code:
trex,
    galli,
    orni,
    raptor,
Last but not least, go under fslhunt.ini where it says
Code:
HuntingGround[FlamingCliffs]
{
   title      = $FossilHunt_FlamingCliffs_Title;
   period      = Cretaceous;
   location   = Asia;
   matlib      = "dinos_flamingcliffs";

   reqdinos   = { raptor, homalo, galli };
   linkedtoset = 1;   // Linked to an unlocking set

   cost      = 0;
   gold      = 12;
and change it to
Code:
HuntingGround[FlamingCliffs]
{
   title      = $FossilHunt_FlamingCliffs_Title;
   period      = Cretaceous;
   location   = Asia;
   matlib      = "dinos_flamingcliffs";

   reqdinos   = { raptor, homalo, galli, orni };
   linkedtoset = 1;   // Linked to an unlocking set

   cost      = 0;
   gold      = 12;
then just go into the game and you should have one! you can do this in the same way with any dino that you wish!

VERY awesome, it's just like making an MST. Except your Galli will be overwritten, not duplicated.

BEST MOD I'VE EVER SEEN HERE!

But you would have to make a new skin for the orni, and how would you do that? Have you tested this...Do you think you can take some pictures to show in detail?? This is awesome!

1 you don't have to make a new skin, It will be exactly like galli but it's screen name is ornithomimus
2 i cannot download Fraps due to personal restrictions. Neutral if i use any other camera, it looks crappy. scratch
3 Thanks! Smile

P.S. PLEASE VIEW THE VID, FIRST OF ALL, YOU WILL UNDERSTAND, SECOND IN USING IT, I KINDA NEED YOU TO WATCH IT. I DIDN'T MAKE IT!
P.S.S. I didn't even expect it to be so "great" or be the "best mod " you've ever seen! ecspecially since you also have a modding genesis account! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I don't know about that. But I only followed the video. It will be exactly like the galli except it is going to say orni for its name. Smile

Oh, that's pretty simple..... I take back what I said.
I thought you can skin them- wait, you can, if you open the digsite.dds of the gali and see if "Orni" is added in!..... I shall see.

2. I belive that since i posted this long after I knew how to do this. 3. Copying is a cool thing because the person copying likes the first person's idea enough to use it! so I blame no one! afro

Wait-shouldn't this be in the mods section? Also, will this overwrite the galli of you do orni like in the tutorial? And can you change the digsite that the new dinosaur is located in. That's all I want to know.
